We cruise the beautiful waters along the North West Coast and Gulf of Paria, listen to the sounds of the sea and typical local music (optional). We make stops for swimming at secluded bays only reachable by boat. Sometimes you see lots of dolphins! Air-conditioned area and toilet facilities available on board as well as water toys (standup paddle, kayaks, body boards, floats etc.).

We pick you up from your hotel and a short drive through the city brings us to the scenic North West Coast of Trinidad. Beautiful coastal views accompany us on our approx. 1/2 hour journey. We pass the upscale neighborhoods of the West until we reach one of the many marinas on this busy coast. Here we board our beautiful Yacht  (35 ft Bertram), our cruise starts immediately. Enjoy the cool breeze, the warming rays of the sun, the relaxed vibe on board. Our captain is experienced and hospitable. He has many many stories to tell!

Our journey takes us past Nelson Island, then past the Prison island of Carrera (which is still occupied) before we head to the Dragon’s mouth (according to weather conditions). Whether you lie on the boat and soak up the brilliant sunshine or enjoy the comfortable air- conditioned room – it’s all up to you. There is a large shaded area to the back of the boat as well – plus you can go to the “second floor” and chat with the captain.  This relaxing trip is exactly what you need to make your vacation dream a reality.

In search of dolphins, we explore the other small islands on this coast and make bathing stops in secluded bays with a chance to swim alongside the Hawksbill turtles. These Islands are rich in history and teeming with marine and wildlife.

This is the world famous Trinidad Carnival! Be part of the experience, join a costume band and have fun in the most exciting street party called “J’Ouvert!" “J’Ouvert” is the first street parade of the annual Carnival, a massive party with people of all age groups! It starts a few hours before dawn - come and experience four hours of pure fun! Blend into the local culture by pasting different colors of paint and mud onto yourself and friends, while the rhythm of the music lifts you off your feet. You'll follow the ‘costume’ band accompanied by music trucks through the streets until the sun comes up. Dance and jump to the sweet sounds of local music in the comforting shade of the cool night and the company of your band - the streets are calling you, authentic Caribbean culture at its best! Arranged transfers, a simple costume, a guide and of course the fun are all included! This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience not to be missed.

Trinidad is the birthplace of Carnival and “Trinis” are known as the party people of the Caribbean! The annual celebrations culminate on Carnival Monday and Tuesday with a massive street parade and street party in Port of Spain, the capital. You are invited to join an authentic “costume band” for “J’Ouvert,” which is the first street parade that takes place from 4am to 8am on Carnival Monday.

The “costume” consists of a simple short pants and t-shirt outfit that you can paste with mud or paint during the party. This is optional – but beware, most likely you will do it anyway, as the enthusiastic and persuading "Trinis" will most likely convince you. You will also receive an arm-band indicating your membership in the band and entitling you to alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from the accompanying drink truck.

The itinerary is simple: You will be picked up at your Port of Spain hotel at 3am and taken to meet hundreds of other participants at the starting point of the band. When the music trucks start to move, the group will follow them through the streets, accompanied by the band. Create your own costume by pasting your outfit with different colors of water paint, mud, oil, baby powder or even chocolate. Feel the vibration of the speakers from the music trucks flow through your body, everyone will become a family as you dance together and move through the streets to the local “Soca” music. You will meet other bands on the way. Party with unlimited drinks from start to finish!

Just before the fun comes to an end (and the sun starts to get hot), you will go to the breakfast stop, where you are offered a delightful local breakfast. Meet your fellow masqueraders in bright sunlight, with mud flaking off, relaxing with a cup of coffee. You will then be dropped back to the hotel.

Please make your own hotel/accommodation arrangements as they have to be booked separately. Please note that Trinidad Carnival hotels and flights sell out early and should be booked as early as possible. If assistance is needed with arranging accommodation for the Carnival weekend 2018, we will be happy to help.

Start your day with a relaxing drive to south Trinidad. Enjoy a wide variety of East Indian foods and delicacies. Continue the adventure on a short hike through an abandoned sugar plantation and teak forest before arriving at the mud volcano. A large circular pool of clay filled material, we jump in and get ourselves dirty and enjoy the cool rejuvenating properties of nature’s best. We continue the hiking adventure to the calm waters of the south-west coast, the perfect opportunity for washing off the mud and enjoying a relaxing swim.

Starting from your hotel this tour takes us to South Trinidad where we take a scenic drive through Chaguanas one of the oldest known settlements in Trinidad & Tobago, Couva one of the oldest sugar villages and San Fernando which has unique tertiary rock formations, a unique occurrence on our island.

Our first stop is “doubles capital” where we experience a wide variety of East Indian foods like doubles of course, saheena, pholourie, aloo pie, baiganee, cachourie and many more to give you energy for the fun ahead!

After we had our fill, our final destination is an exciting Mud Volcano. To get to the volcano (approx. 45 minutes hiking) we hike through an abandoned sugar cane plantation and teak forest which consists of undulating hills with gentle inclines (you will be exposed to the sun). The mud volcano is a large circular pool of clay filled material. At the center, there are active vents which can be identified by the bubbles at the surface. It is said that the mud from the volcanoes cleans and rejuvenates your skin!!

After experiencing this amazing natural attraction, we hike an additional 30-45 minutes to the calm, warm and inviting beach which is perfect for washing off all the mud with a rejuvenating sea bath.

Extra Information:

There are over 15 Mud Volcanoes in Trinidad. The original Amerindian inhabitants of Trinidad called these areas “guaico”, meaning “mud-stream”. A mud volcano does not erupt lava and superheated gases. Instead, it merely bubbles most of the time, allowing for cooler, trapped gases to escape from the earth’s shallower crust levels.
