Arrive at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary, a 48-square-mile (77-sq-km) wetland area on Trinidad's western coast. Part dense mangrove swamp and part sparkling lagoon, this richly vegetative nature reserve is thriving with a variety of wildlife waiting to be discovered. Be sure to keep eye out for the blood-red Scarlet Ibis—Trinidad's national bird—streaking across the sky.

Board a spacious flat-bottomed boat with outboard motor and drift slowly along the swamp's waterways, taking in sights of thick foliage and exotic birds, like the large-billed tern and snowy egret. Red, black, and white mangroves flank the edges of the channels, thick aerial roots add another layer to the surrounding scenery. You eventually find yourself in a peaceful lagoon, which is the perfect place to watch the spectacular home flight of the the large bright red Scarlet Ibis to their roosting trees or nesting sites. Take a drive through the lively shopping streets of Port of Spain. See the Queen’s Park Savannah and the magnificent, seven, colonial style buildings and visit the National Museum (according to availability). Visit Fort George for spectacular panoramic views of Port of Spain. Next, take the North Coast road to the famous Maracas Beach. Make a stop at the lookout point, take some photos of the surrounding bays and even try some local snacks such as pineapple chutney. This tour starts with an overview of the capital city, Port of Spain, which includes a visit to the bustling Independence Square with its’ imposing Central Bank and Brian Lara Promenade, the surrounding shopping streets, Parliament Building, Supreme Court and historic Woodford Square. Also the Queens Park Savannah – known as ‘the world’s largest roundabout.’ This 200-acre recreational park is lined with exotic trees and interesting colonial mansions with intricate architectural designs. The Magnificent Seven are the finest of these. After taking in the beauty of downtown Port of Spain, we'll drive through one of the northern suburb called Maraval. This takes us to the North Coast road that leads to Maracas Bay.

Just before approaching the bay we’d come to a lookout point. Here is where we take in the panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and the surrounding bays and even enjoy local snacks and freshly seasoned fruit, locally called “chow.” Next, we’ll arrive at the most popular beach in Trinidad, Maracas Bay, which is surrounded by lush green rainforest covered mountains, with a sandy beach lined with coconut trees.

This unspoiled Caribbean scenery is free of high-rise hotels and practically untouched by tourism. Taste a famous "bake and fish," a hot crispy fish sandwich with homemade bread. There are many different sauces from which you can choose, just beware of the very hot pepper! Note, this is not included in the tour price. At the Centre, you'll view an incredible amount of different species of tropical birds from the same location. Hummingbirds feed from the containers hanging right in front of you, staying long enough for you to take some fantastic photographs. There’s a 1.5 hour guided walk through the rainforest where you see Agoutis, Tegu Lizards, and many other birds and also a fresh water pool for bathing.

Leaving your hotel we drive to the nearby scenic Lady Young Lookout for panoramic photographs of Port of Spain and the Gulf of Paria beyond. On our way to the Asa Wright Nature Centre we pass the majestic Northern Range mountains with the Mount St. Benedict Monastery nestled into the mountainside. The town of Arima in the East of Trinidad is the gateway into the lush rainforest, the drive will lead us along a narrow road through the mountains during which guests will be able to see interesting plants and fruit trees.

The Asa Wright Nature Centre is a bird sanctuary and study centre set in 200 acres of the thickly forested Arima Valley. We visit the old plantation house with its large open verandah from which you can view an incredible amount of different species of tropical birds from the same location. Hummingbirds feed from the containers hanging right in front of you, staying long enough for you to take some fantastic photographs. Large tegu lizard and guinea pig-like agouti search for scraps below the bird feeders.

There is a guided walk through the forest where you'll learn about the uses of many different medicinal herbs, the history of the Asa Wright Centre, the oilbirds that live in an on-site cave, and fascinating birds like the bearded bell and the dancing manakin birds. Our return drive is via the same route with the option of visiting the Arima’s fresh produce market if time and clients’ wishes allow.

Start the day with city tour of Trinidad’s capital, Port of Spain. Admire the Parliament Buildings, Supreme Court, historic Woodford Square, shopping streets in the city’s bustling center and Independence Square, with its Central Bank. A drive through the city brings the tour to the Queens Park Savannah, a 200-acre recreational park lined with exotic trees and interesting colonial style mansions with amazing architectural designs and the newly constructed National Academy of the Performing Arts, similar to the Opera House in Sydney.

Traveling through Maraval, the tour will reach the scenic North Coast Road. From here, one can admire a stunning view of the lush green Paramin Hills to the west and the thick rainforest to the east.

Upon reaching the Caribbean Sea, take in the most spectacular panoramic view of the ocean. A stop at the panoramic Maracas Lookout provides the opportunity for some photos of the surrounding bays. You can taste some delicious local snacks like fresh pineapple chutney or "toolum" made from sugarcane molasses. You simply must try it.

The most popular beach in Trinidad, Maracas Bay, is surrounded by lush green, rainforest-covered mountains, with a sandy beach lined with coconut trees. Continuing on, pass through the lush green valley of Santa Cruz with its cocoa and coffee plantations. The second half of the tour provides a delightful introduction to the Caroni Bird Sanctuary where avifauna is particularly abundant. The sanctuary is a 48 square mile wetland area on Trinidad’s western coast, part mangrove swamp and part lagoon. Upon arrival, you'll board a large flat-bottomed boat and slowly travel along the beautiful waterways admiring the unusual landscape and variety of birds, crustaceans and other wildlife. Red, black and white mangroves populate the edges of the waterways, with many tiny oysters clinging to their roots. It is also possible to see non-poisonous snakes in the branches of the trees and caimans or silky anteaters.

Upon arriving in the wide lagoon, the boat becomes your floating vantage-point to witness the protected and brightly colored Scarlet Ibis. The birds feed and nest in this area and every sunset they fly in unison to roost, a spectacular cloud of red against the evening sky. They settle in the mangroves as the sun is setting, the quiet atmosphere of the lagoon adding atmosphere to a memorable trip. You will be dropped back of at your hotel at approximately 7:00pm.

Start with a scenic drive along the northwest coast to Chaguaramas where you have to your ziplining experience. There are 7 lines and 5 canopy walks and net bridges overlooking the majestic Caribbean Sea and rainforest. The highest cable is approximately 100 feet up and longest cable is about 500 feet up.  In close vicinity, We then Kayak in a popular spot called Williams Bay.  After this, drive through the busy suburb, St. James, to Fort George for spectacular panoramic views of Port of Spain.

A short drive along the scenic northwest coast dotted with marinas and yacht clubs brings us to a secluded bay where we begin the zipping experience. After receiving instructions, a waiver and guidelines, the adventure begins. Time to fly through the sky! 

There are 7 lines and 5 canopy walks and net bridges overlooking the majestic Caribbean Sea and lush forest. The highest cable is approximately 100 feet up and the longest cable is about 500 feet long. It takes about forty-five minutes to an hour to glide through the course. We zip from platform to platform with beautiful scenery greeting us at every turn! The zipline is internationally certified, meaning it has a double harness.

After this, we take either a swim in the refreshing waters of the bay and look for some tropical fish or Kayak in one of the most popular spots for kayaking called Williams Bay.

The last stop offers fantastic panoramic views of Port of Spain. Fort George towers at a height of 72 meters above sea level and overlooks Port of Spain, Central and South Trinidad - to the west we can see as far as Venezuela! What a beautiful, breezy spot and the best way to finish an energizing day!
